Rose Felt Inspired

Rose is from Portishead and is a fairly new trader. She sells needle felted pictures made predominantly from wool but she also uses other fibres.  Rose enjoys the lovely ambience at the market and the fact it’s indoors along with our eco friendly ethos.
Her business uses recycled bubble wrap for packaging and she uses recycled materials where practical eg for needle felting on to. She also has a selection of unframed wall hangings.
We asked Rose what challenges does she face in trying to reduce carbon footprint of her products?
“I obtain raw materials at a reasonable price but I would like to buy raw wool products locally if they were available. I shop on-line but try to buy in bulk to save on transportation costs. The unframed pictures are almost always 100% biodegradable as they are made from natural fibres.”

You can follow rose on her Facebook page ‘Rose Felt Inspired’ and she also sells at Ebb & Flo gift shop, High Street, Portishead.
The picture of the horse was sewn on to an old pair of jeans.
Brilliant!

Jane's James

Jane is a local lady that’s traded with us for ten years. She sells preserves such as jam, marmalade, chutney and pickles and is very happy for you to sample with some cheese & crackers! She’s always trying new recipes and listens to customers requests. Jane enjoys the friendly atmosphere of the market and regularly sees friends and chats to her regular customers.
The business uses recycled jars and lids and these can re returned and reused and it’s definitely plastic free! She uses local organic ingredients whenever possible, mainly vegan/vegetarian, in fact she’d like to get all ingredients from local growers.
I can personally vouch for the chilli jam, it’s amazing!
Thanks Jane!
